First Snow Fall! And the Debate of a Life...

Sun Dec 6, 2009, 12:54 PM
We just had our first snowfall a couple hours ago, and it's still going strong ^-^

YUSH, Snow Day, here we come...

...And, yeah, I know I've been talking about this supposed "MEGA HUGE ULTRA GIANT Art Dump" for over a year now...but I swear it IS coming...just very, very, very slowly...XD, And anyway, it's been growing and is now even more "MEGAHUGEULTRAGIANTHUMONGOUS" than before...

So yeah, I'll probably have some time to do it over Winter Break. Of course, there's so many things that I have to do (that I've ALSO put of for a year..XD) that it might not. However, if it isn't, then I'll definitely get to it sometime soon after.

Any-whoo (heh), I've been looking for a new obsession to ween me off of Avatar, because frankly, it's been going on for way too freaking long 0_0...it just...won't end. And I can't focus on any other fandom until it stops sucking all of my attention out of me. So a few months ago I started reading Fly By Night, and was somewhere in the middle until I lost it...XD...that's the 4th book I've lost to that school... but anyway! I found the first one (the one that I initially bought, but then lost before I could start reading it, and then bought a new copy, which is the one that I lost a month ago...that statement does not pretend to make sense...) and I am continuing to read it happily.

Although it isn't really obsession-material, it's awesome, and I'll probably be able to move onto another obsession with too much Avatar trouble after this.

Oh! And guess what? The other day, like a month or so ago, the boy just randomly started singing Don't Stop Believing in science. And then they sang it again on Glee, too. And then, a few days later, my chorus teacher started playing the song at the end of chorus, XD...

...Yeah, I started singing along with them...Don't judge me....

And guess what we're doing in English? Debating the life of an Ant! XD...

In the story, "Hey, Little Ant" A boy is about to step on an ant when they start debating (in rhyme) whether or not he should step on the ant.

I'm a non-squisher, and I'm going to be debating against someone else on Friday.

During the debate, we'll both earn enough points for an A, but only the winner will get it (the loser gets a B)

There will be three rounds to the debate:

1. We both read our essays and give our argument.
While my opponent reads her essay, I'll take notes on where I think she's wrong, and she'll do the same for me.

2. We say "you said this? Well, you're WRONG" and explain why.

3. We say, "You said I was wrong here? Well, I'm RIGHT, and here's why..."
[link]
I've been doing TONNNNSSSS of research on ants, finding out whether or not they can feel pain, what kind of ant is in the story, etc.

The most important thing to remember, though, is that we're not talking about ALL Ants, or ants in general, or anything. We're only discussing whether or not That Boy in That Story should squish That Ant.

...So...Wish me luck? XD

Anyway...until next time...

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlights, people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights, people

Importantfulnesh! Halloween Contest!

Sat Oct 24, 2009, 10:57 PM
So, because of my love for Halloween and all of the awesomeness that it holds, I've decided to try doing a contest for it :D :D :D

I'm quite prepared for the idea that no one will want to enter it, but I figured to try anyway, XD.

~ What is it about?

Tis a scary story contest! It can be....

A piece of writing (falling under the actual scary story part)

An comic strip

A picture that conveys a story (through emotions, scenes, and such)

Or just any type of art that tells some kind of story through it.

*Note: Can be extremely vague. XD, but yes, doesn't have to be all detailed and explained out, could be something that's just a taste of what's really going on.

~When is the deadline?

Preferred Deadline: Nov. 1st 2009

Actual Deadline: Nov. 10th 2009

I originally wanted to end it on Nov. 1st, but because I never got around to announcing it until now, I'll make it until the 10th.

*You can hand in any submissions to the contest before then, if you want.

~Rules:

*Must be in by the deadline. (Nov. 10th)

*Must tell some form of story, or message.

*Should have something to do with Halloween, or one of the Horror/Thrill/Scary/Supernatural genres.

~Prizes:

Prizes haven't been decided yet. If there's anyone willing to do commission for it, then please contact me.

So yups...that's all...

I hope some of you guys enter it, and good luck! ^-^ :D :D :D

Barney, School, Dictatorships, & FlaxSeed

Sat Sep 5, 2009, 11:46 AM
Arg, have been neglecting mah journal waaaay to long....

And Now this one is looooooong, XD....sorry....

So last Monday, the 31st, was my first day of school, and to be honest I kind of expected the worst. That's usually how I am XD. But actually, and surprisingly I have some awesome teachers this year. I mean, there isn't one single teacher I have this year that I'm not at least mildly content with, and in fact, I like all of them. Which is strange, cuz usually there's always at least that one that worried about or something, -shrug-

I especially like the science and English ones, sense they're pretty funny, and fairly awesome. .

Like in English, for our diagnostic essay, we're writing about Barney, and if it's possible or realistic to be able to have a "Barney Classroom" and it's involving all of these complicated themes and conclusions being drawn from the shown. We actually watched it in class a few times XD.

And this something that occurred in my science class back on the first day...

My Teacher: What kind of society do we have in this country?

Some Random Kids: A democracy...

My Teacher: Yeah, and what do you do in a democracy? You vote for your leaders, right?

Class: -agreements-

My Teacher: Did anyone vote for me?

Random kids: no...

My Teacher: So what kind of society does that make this classroom?

Some Random kids: ....a dictatorship...?

My Teacher: That's right, a dictatorship, and don't you forget it.

...XD... so, yeah 7th grade looking fun this year, and hopefully we'll do some cool projects and things. I'm also thinking about joining some clubs, including Math League, Science Olympiad, and Drama, though, I'm not sure if I can handle all of them. Especially if I make it into Honor Band, which I reeeeeaaaally hope that I do...I better practice, auditions are on the 8th...

Plus, Honor Band has been invited to play on a cruise ship sailing through the Bahamas! Which is some extra incentive for me. XD....

We also have a cool regular band trip to Broadway in Oct. to see Wicked, which is cool. I mean, I'm disappointed that we aren't seeing something else, like Phantom of the Opera  because I've already seen Wicked on Broadway, but hey, it'll still be fun to go with my friends to NY and stuff ^-^

Oh, and hey? Guess what? The government finally broke down and made my birthday a national holiday! They're celebrating the birth of their future evil dictator! We even get the day off from schoo--what? Oh, yeah, never mind, it's just on Labour Day this year....oh well...it's still sweet to get a whole long weekend for it ^-^ :D XD...

I started reading my first Discworld book a little while ago, called the Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, which is awesome. I'm almost done with it, and after that I'll either be reading The Hunger Games or Fly By Night.
I can't continue with the awesomeness of Discworld right away because this whole school year, we have to read books off of the AR or "Accelerated Reading" list :P So yeah. Some good books on there though. Like I said I'm caught between which one I should read first, but there are a lot of great titles on there that I recognize.

...which one should I read first, though?

Oh, and yeah, just in case you're wondering what I just had for Breakfast after I just woke up at 12-something in the afternoon, and you looked down at the section below this and see the "Flax-seed pancakes" and go wtf? What the hell are those? ....Trust me., you don't want to know. Flax seed may be awesomely-healthy for you and everything, but it tasted like crap. I decided to try the pancakes and they're not so bad if you use half a bottle of maple syrup XD. The brownies tasted like chocolate-flavored card board. I think from now on, I'll just stick to whole-wheat....XD...

So yup...that's it....

This has been Sarcastic Ninja, telling you that Barney is a popular English-class debate topic, Honor Band students get to cruise the Bahamas, my Birthday is either a national holiday or just happens to fall on one this year (We'll never know for sure...XD), Flax-Seed is crap, My science class is a dictatorship, and I'm being optimistic towards something for the first time in a few years...

All of this can really only mean one thing, and I suggest that you run for the bunkers as soon as possible, because frankly? It's the freaking end of the world...

...you all knew it was coming, XD....
